Meet the Concertmaster: Eloise Fadial

Violinist Eloise Fadial serves as concertmaster of the Brockport Symphony Orchestra. She began playing violin at the age of 3, and her love for the instrument drew her to continue playing through high school and college. In 2016, Eloise served as assistant concert master of the Wyoming All State Orchestra. While pursuing her B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Wyoming, Eloise studied with the Grammy-nominated violinist and her father, Dr. John Fadial. She briefly studied the viola da gamba with the distinguished Dr. Beth Vanderborgh. She also performed with the University of Wyoming Symphony and Chamber orchestras. From 2016-2021, she received the prestigious McElhone Scholarship, an award for engineering students that play in the Symphony. In August 2021, she moved to Rochester, NY to begin her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. She has found great joy in continuing to perform with the Brockport Symphony orchestra while also pursuing her studies.

In her spare time, Eloise enjoys spending time in the great outdoors: hiking, paddleboarding, canyoneering, skiing, etc. She is also a certified 200-hr yoga instructor and runs a blog where she tries to make science a bit more accessible and understandable: https://accessiblesci.wordpress.com/
